This awareness course will not only inform you of the risks involved when working with asbestos, but it will also teach you about:

How to recognise asbestos, where it is used, how to minimise the risks involved with asbestos and the legislation that is attached to working with asbestos.

Asbestos is a highly dangerous building material and due to this thousands of people fall ill and die due to asbestos exposure. This was as it was used in the construction industry until 2000.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 don’t just apply to employers and employees but also to self-employed persons and duty holders; these cover all forms of work about asbestos-containing materials. Specifically, regulation 10 of CAR states that every employer must provide sufficient information, instruction and training to all those who will be exposed to/ working with asbestos.

This asbestos awareness course is perfect for builders, carpenters, electricians, plumbers and other building-related and maintenance trades. Consisting of four modules and questions, the online training course explores how to recognise asbestos, where it is utilised, how to minimise the risks involved when working with asbestos and finally, the legislation around the substance.

Participants are given the chance to review their answers at the end of each of the modules, before the final submission. There will also be an allowance of three attempts at each module.

As well as informing you about the risks of working with asbestos, the course will deliver a lot more information about Recognising asbestos, where it’s used, minimising the risks and the legislation about working with asbestos.

Certification

On successful completion of our course, you will be emailed a safety training quality assured certificate. This can be used to provide evidence for compliance and audit. This course is approved by RoSPA & IATP.
